Discover Madrid’s century old-tavern
In Madrid
Madrid has a huge diversity of bars, restaurants and taverns, some of them are very old and traditional. Whenever a shop or a restaurant is more than 100 years old, then you’ll find a commemorative plaque on the floor. Only if it’s still the original business!
What are tapas? A tapa is a small dish that is generally given for free when you order a drink at a bar, normally you don’t have a choice; it can be anything from some potato chips or cheese, to paella or chicken wings. For most madrileños having drinks and ‘Tapas’ or ‘Raciones’ is the best option for spending our quality time with friends and family.

A native of the Galician town of Porriño—where his father was working as a public works engineer on the railway layout—he was shaped by this background as well as by his close connection to stone, a material that remained a constant in his work.
